Q: When does Guild Wars Reforged launch?
A: Guild Wars Reforged will launch on December 3rd, 2025.
Q: What is included in the purchase of Guild Wars Reforged?
A: Guild Wars Reforged will include the three main Guild Wars campaigns – Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall.
Other content, such as the Eye of the North expansion and Bonus Mission Pack, will remain available as additional purchases, alongside account upgrades and costumes.
Q: Where can I purchase Guild Wars Reforged?
A: Guild Wars Reforged can be purchased directly from ArenaNet or via Steam.
Q: What are the system requirements for Guild Wars Reforged?
A: The system requirements will remain unchanged. You can review the existing system requirements here.
Q: What if I already own the original Guild Wars?
A: If you currently own any campaign for Guild Wars, you will automatically be granted access to the entirety of Guild Wars Reforged.
Please note that all existing Guild Wars accounts are considered ArenaNet accounts, even those purchased on Steam. Guild Wars Reforged can be used to create a new account linked with your Steam login, but only if you create a new account on Steam after December 3rd.
Regardless of whether you own all three campaigns – or just one or two – your account will now have access to all three that are included in the new game package: Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall.
Q: If I bought Guild Wars on Steam prior to Reforged, can I buy a new copy now? How will that impact my account?
A: Yes. you can buy an additional copy of Guild Wars Reforged via Steam.
Your old account is an ArenaNet account and is associated with the serial code provided. You can log into this account using the ArenaNet client or the "Login with ArenaNet" option in the Steam client. This account cannot be linked to your Guild Wars 2 Steam account.
The new Guild Wars Reforged account will be linked to your Steam account and does not require a serial code. You can log into this account on Steam. This account can be linked to Guild Wars 2 on the same Steam login to gain Hall of Monuments rewards.
Q: Will I receive a refund or compensation if I already own a Guild Wars campaign?
A: Only campaigns and items bought in the last 30 days are eligible for a refund, as per our refund policy.
Q: Will my progress be saved and carried over to Guild Wars Reforged?
A: Yes. You will be able to login to your existing game account and continue your Guild Wars adventure where you left off with no impact to your character progress or inventory.
This update mainly includes visual enhancements and improvements to the user experience, while the core gameplay will remain the same.
Q: Will I need to make a new account to log in to the new client?
A: If you are a new player, you will be able to make a new account when starting the game. You will have the option to create an account with ArenaNet using your email (if playing on the standalone client), or linked to your Steam account (if playing via Steam.)
Please note that you can only link a Guild Wars Reforged account to a Guild Wars 2 account on the same platform.
If you are a returning player, you will be able to login and continue playing the game with your existing account credentials. All existing Guild Wars accounts made prior to the launch of Guild Wars Reforged are considered ArenaNet accounts and can be logged into via either the standalone or Steam client.
Steam accounts will only become available after December 3rd.
Q: How do I create a Guild Wars Reforged account if I already have a Guild Wars 2 account using my email?
If you already have an ArenaNet account for Guild Wars 2, you will be unable to create a new account under the same email.
Instead, create an account under a different email, then follow the account linking instructions to consolidate both accounts under the same login as your Guild Wars 2 account.
Once the accounts are linked, both accounts will use the same email and password and you will gain Hall of Monuments rewards in Guild Wars 2 for your Guild Wars Reforged achievements.
Q: Will I still be able to link Guild Wars Reforged to Guild Wars 2 to claim Hall of Monuments rewards?
A: Yes!
Existing Guild Wars accounts will be able to be linked to Guild Wars 2 accounts created via ArenaNet, not to accounts created via Steam.
If you play Guild Wars 2 with a Steam account, you can create a new Guild Wars Reforged account on the same Steam account after December 3rd. Steam accounts will automatically link and you can begin collecting Hall of Monuments rewards in Guild Wars 2.
Please note that accounts can only be linked if they are on the same platform. If you use an email to login with Guild Wars 2 you CANNOT link it with a Steam created Guild Wars Reforged account, or vice versa.
Q: Will I receive the Bonus Items that were included in previous versions of Guild Wars if I purchase Guild Wars Reforged?
No.
Guild Wars Reforged does not include the Igneous Summoning Stone or bonus weapon bundle that was included with the purchase of previous versions of Guild Wars.
If you owned any campaigns for Guild Wars prior to Guild Wars Reforged, you will still have access to any Bonus Items included with your previously redeemed purchases by inputting the “/bonus” command in game. However, you will not receive the additional bonuses from campaigns included in the upgrade to Guild Wars Reforged that you had not purchased previously.
Q: If I previously bought the game on Steam, can I continue to login to my existing ArenaNet account on the new Steam client for Guild Wars Reforged?
A: Yes.
When first launching Guild Wars Reforged on Steam, you will be prompted to choose whether you want to login with your current Steam account, or with an existing ArenaNet game account. Even if you previously purchased Guild Wars via Steam, you need to select the option to login with an ArenaNet account to preserve your progress, as accounts made prior to December 3rd are all considered ArenaNet accounts.
Standalone accounts can always log in via the standalone version of the Guild Wars Reforged client, which can be downloaded here.
Q: How can I purchase costumes and other content for the game on Steam?
Additional content – including costumes and skill unlock packs – will be available for purchase from within the Steam version of the game client at a later date.
Please note that serial keys for content purchased from the Guild Wars Reforged store directly are intended for use on ArenaNet game accounts and CAN NOT be redeemed to a Steam account.
Steam users must purchase DLC content and items via their game client or the Steam store directly and will be unable to redeem serial keys for content purchased from the Guild Wars Store.
Q: I am getting an error code of 108 whenever I try to purchase something from the Guild Wars Store. How can I resolve it?
This error code most likely indicates an issue in your browser that is preventing the purchase from being completed. Please try enabling JavaScript in your browser, disabling any ad blocking extensions you may use, or try another browser.
