In order to play Guild Wars, you will first need to purchase and own one of the following products from the Guild Wars store:
- Guild Wars® Complete Collection
- Guild Wars® Game of the Year Edition
- Guild Wars: Factions®
- Guild Wars: Nightfall®
- Guild Wars: Eye of the North®
Once you complete your purchase, you will receive an email with a serial code—a unique access key that will let you create an account, unlock the game, and begin your journey.
If you picked up a physical, boxed copy of the game, you will find your serial code printed on a paper insert inside the box.

Does Guild Wars require a monthly subscription to play?
Guild Wars does not require a monthly subscription or any other fees to play. Once you own the game, you can continue playing it without spending another dollar!
What is your refund policy?
If you purchased Guild Wars from store.guildwars.com and change your mind within 30 days, you may submit a refund request to our support team. To ensure that we have all the information we need to process your request, please be sure to include the following details:
