In order to play Guild Wars Reforged, you will first need to purchase the game from either the Guild Wars store or Steam.
Once you complete your purchase, you will receive an email with a serial code (if bought via the Guild Wars store) —a unique access key that will let you create an account, unlock the game, and begin your journey.
If you picked up a physical, boxed copy of the game previously, you will find your serial code printed on a paper insert inside the box.
If you bought the game on Steam, you will not receive a serial code, but will be able to register a new account upon launching the game.
Note for existing Guild Wars 2 players:
If you already have an ArenaNet account for Guild Wars 2, you will be unable to create a new account under the same email.
Instead, create an account under a different email, then follow the account linking instructions to consolidate both accounts under the same login as your Guild Wars 2 account.
Once the accounts are linked, both accounts will use the same email and password and you will gain Hall of Monuments rewards in Guild Wars 2 for your Guild Wars Reforged achievements.
Redeeming your Access Key (ArenaNet Account)
Once you have your serial code, follow the instructions below to download the game and register your Guild Wars account:
- Download the Guild Wars Reforged client.
- Run GwSetup.exe to install the Guild Wars Reforged client on your PC.
- Launch the game.
- When you reach the login screen, click the "Create Account or Add Access Key" link.
- On this screen, you’ll select whether you want to add an Access Key to an existing Guild Wars account or create a brand-new account. If you're creating a new account, check the box next to 'Create a new Guild Wars account' and click Next.
- Select your region, and then enter the 25-digit serial code in the empty fields. Double-check to ensure your code is correct before clicking Next to proceed.
- The next screen will display all the features and bonus items you're about to unlock on your account. Click Add Key when you're done reviewing the list.
- Finally, select an email address and password for the account. These will become your login credentials, so be sure to make a note of them before clicking Create to complete the registration process.
- You're done!
Registering a New Account (Steam Account)
- Purchase and install Guild Wars Reforged on Steam.
- Launch the game.
- When you reach the login screen, click "Create New Account Via Steam."
- Create an ArenaNet display name, if prompted to do so.
- You're done! You should now be able to login with Steam and begin playing.
