Does Guild Wars require a monthly subscription to play on Steam?
Guild Wars does not require a monthly subscription or any other fees to play. Once you own the game, you can continue playing it without spending another dollar!
What is your refund policy?
All Steam purchases fall under the purview of Steam's refund policy.
Note that refunding your game through Steam will include disabling any serial codes associated with the refunded transaction. If you wish to continue playing Guild Wars on the same account after a refund is processed, you will need to purchase a new serial code.
Will I receive a game serial code if I purchase Guild Wars Reforged on Steam?
No.
Copies of Guild Wars Reforged from Steam are automatically linked and redeemed to the account that made the purchase. As such, you do not need a serial key to redeem or activate the game. For login or purchase assistance, you can reach out to Steam support.
If you purchased the game prior to the release of Guild Wars Reforged (December 3rd, 2025,) your account is considered an ArenaNet account. This means you will login using an email and password, and you will have received a serial key upon purchasing the game. You can find it by right clicking the Guild Wars Reforged entry in your Steam library, selecting the “Manage” option, then “CD keys.” This will open an interface from which you can copy the serial keys for your purchased content.
How do I gift a copy of the game to another user on Steam?

How can I purchase costumes and other content for the game on Steam?
Additional content – including costumes and skill unlock packs – will be available for purchase from within the Steam version of the game client at a later date.
Please note that serial keys for content purchased from the Guild Wars Reforged store directly are intended for use on ArenaNet game accounts and CAN NOT be redeemed to a Steam account.
Steam users must purchase DLC content and items via their game client or the Steam store directly and will be unable to redeem serial keys for content purchased from the Guild Wars Store.
